Julius, Augustus OR Caesar Salad

Julius or Augustus Caesar—who was the better Caesar? Let’s break it down!

Julius was the trailblazer, the brilliant general who conquered Gaul and forever changed Rome. He crossed the Rubicon, declaring war on the Senate, and became the dictator of Rome. His ambition and reforms laid the foundation for the Roman Empire—but his power grab led to his assassination in 44 BCE.

Then came Augustus, Julius’s adopted son. He avenged Caesar, defeated his rivals, and became the first Roman Emperor. Augustus was the master of subtlety—he kept the appearance of a Republic while holding absolute power. His over 40 year reign brought peace and stability, known as the Pax Romana, leaving behind a legacy that lasted centuries.

So, who was the better Caesar? Julius the visionary who dared to defy tradition, or Augustus the strategic genius who turned that vision into reality.

Or just settle for a Caesar salad.
